Angelica
Angelica was born in Mexico but came to the United States at the age of six. She spoke no English and her mother kept her and her siblings out of school for two years because of their lack of language. She met her husband at the age of sixteen and got married at 18; they have been married for 33 years, have two boys, and two grandchildren.
Angelica and her husband moved to the Bulverde area seven years ago. Her
husband was a framer, but sadly fell from a second story building and injured several discs in his back. She always knew there was God but it wasn’t something that was
talked about. After her husband’s injury she turned to God and has had a very close
relationship with Him since.
Several years ago Angelica met Jeanette Johnson who introduced her to the Hope Center. She commented that she is always greeted with a smile and treated with dignity. She has never once felt like she was a piece of an assembly line, like she was rushed to get in and out. Instead, she was prayed over and she could see the heart of each volunteer she had the opportunity to meet. She has never had a bad experience and is grateful for all The Hope Center has done for her. Angelica had so many good things to say about our Volunteer Coordinator, Marie, and the incredible heart she has for others.
