Chris

Chris grew up in the Corpus Christi area. His father was incarcerated when he was 5 and continued to be in and out of prison for many years during which Chris’ stepmother would visit him and share the Word of God to many inmates.

During high school he was involved in both the army ROTC and theater where he showed his talents both on the stage and behind the scenes working on set design.
Chris attended Austin Community College and Corpus Christi A&M where he got his degree in environmental science; after he earned his degree he served 6 years in the military.

Chris currently works at a dog training ranch with approximately 40 dogs; here, they take in abandoned dogs, train them, and rehome them to loving families. He does maintenance, repairs, and almost everything else they need with the exception of actually training the dogs. Ironically, Chris is highly allergic to animals and has to take medication to stay healthy. But, his heart is 100% committed to his job and he still loves animals, especially dogs and lizards.

After Chris moved to Spring Branch, he reconnected with his father who is now not only out of prison, but is the President for Campers for Christ. Chris often helps his dad set up for their weekend events.

His father introduced him to The Hope Center about two years ago. The money he was able to save on food has been used to make repairs on his home, so he is very grateful for the pantry!

Chris says the people at The Hope Center are genuine, selfless and personable. We feel the same about him; Chris is an amazing young man and the Hope Center is blessed to be able to help him during his time of need.
