Diane

Diane was born on March 3, 1948. She suffered a lot of illness, trauma, and abuse in her childhood which led her to become suicidal. Diane survived her attempt to overdose and truly believes the reason she survived is to spread the word about “The Man Upstairs.”


At 18 she worked as a nurse's aid; during this time she saw a baby delivered and knew at that moment that she wanted to be a nurse. Diane worked in a nursing home in the medical/surgical unit and then moved to the psychiatric/addiction ward. It was this aspect of nursing that she loved the most. If you have ever met Diane, you would understand why, as she has the greatest empathy and compassion for others.

In 1995 Diane was injured on the job when a file cabinet fell on her. She ruptured four discs in her back but it took 25 years before she received a procedure that would help relieve the pain. When she woke up from the surgery, she cried, but this time not because of pain, it was because the pain was gone!

When asked what she appreciates most about The Hope Center, Diane’s face lit up! She loves the people and the love in their hearts for others. She says she received love, courage, and strength from the volunteers. While she says she appreciates the food she got, she said that is a very small part of what she’s gotten from the ministry.

Diane is truly a gift…kind, compassionate, and extremely caring!
