“God has a plan and a purpose!” Proverbs 3:5-6 Linda’s faith has carried her through life-from divorce, financial struggles, injuries and illnesses, to feelings of isolation…she knows God has purposed it all for His glory.

In 2014 while recovering from a fall and feeling isolated, Linda’s daughter brought her crafts to help pass the time. She knew she needed to do something to heal her soul and help the other patients who were in similar situations, so she started making bookmarks and thus began the creation of “Bookmark Blessings.”

After surviving chemo and radiation for tongue cancer in 2019, she knew that God wasn’t finished with her yet; He had a plan for her on earth. Linda knew that God gave her a talent that was to be used for His glory! Distributing the bookmarks gives her such joy as she loves seeing the smiles on people’s faces.

Experiencing another side of life and financial difficulty, struggling to make ends meet, Linda was told about The Hope Center. “What a blessing they have been,” she says.

She views the Hope Center as a wonderful place. She likes the people, the hugs, the smiles, the genuineness of the staff and volunteers. She feels they genuinely like the people they serve. “The clients are never just a number. Instead, they are treated as people with stories that make them each unique.” The Hope Center helped her with her situation and she said she never knew that she could be helped without being made to feel less than she is.

Even after coming to the Hope Center for financial help she is still dedicated to helping and blessing others with her artistic skills; she even made bookmarks for all those serving at the Hope Center as well as for the Loft to give away to their customers.
