Patricia
Patricia was raised in the Del Rio area. Growing up, she always wanted to be a forensic accountant. She married at the age of 17 and describes her ex-husband as an alcoholic and drug addict. After her divorce she moved to Corpus Christi. Later she moved to San Antonio where she attended Faith Bible Institute classes and eventually found The Hope Center.
Patricia is a mother of two boys. Unfortunately her oldest son passed away from Covid in January of 2021. Her other son lives in North Carolina with his wife and three children.
Patricia has been a part of The Hope Center for many years but graduated from needing our assistance in early 2023 and now works the night shift as a security guard. She still attends many of our events, such as Night of Hope, and our monthly educational classes with Texas AgriLife.
While Patricia deeply appreciates the financial aid from the Hope Center, it's the spiritual support that resonates most with her. Though she knew God before, her time with the Center has strengthened her personal relationship with Jesus. Her biggest challenge, as she sees it, is being honest with herself. Grateful for both the financial and spiritual assistance, Patricia treasures the Center's impact on her life.
