At The Hope Center we aim to love God and love others by addressing the immediate and diverse needs of our neighbors with compassion and purpose.
How It All Started
In 2004, our then-head pastor, Scott Heare, was leading a baptism in Israel when the current turned rough and pulled him under. A friend reached into the water and dragged him to shore. On that riverbank, soaked and catching his breath, God impressed a clear message on his heart: “Be the kind of people who pull others out of the white waters of life. Call this place Riverside, and be a community that brings strength and support to those walking through difficult seasons.”
Scott carried that word home to Texas, where God gave him a vision to create a Shephelah—a place where believers...

A word from our
Executive Director,
Teresa Moore:
When pursuing God for a word for this ministry we sensed "You are more than food and financial provision - you are to be a light on the hill."
We purposefully pray with people, go above and beyond for them as we are able to and attempt to KNOW our families. I believe that where we fail to truly love people, we will fail to have influence. We hope to help lives be transformed so that they can transform their community, igniting individuals to live their most abundant life possible.
I also believe that excellence honors God and inspires people, so I pray that we are inspiring many people to love well and bring God glory through all that we do.

Chelsea Gruetzner
Director of Operations
Chelsea writes grants, develops internal operating systems, and organizes our data. She is helping us to streamline and innovate our processes to better serve our families. She is excited to use her skills to honor the Lord!
Marie Campbell
Pantry & Volunteer Director
Marie manages the food pantry and oversees their large team of volunteers! If you want to get involved, she is the one to contact. She is "sunshine on any rainy day" and a gift to this ministry.
Scott Phillips
Financial Assistance Director
Scott came to us with years of pastoral experience overseeing medical missions. He has a heart to serve and is integral in overseeing the Financial Assistance team and helping us to dig deeper into our client's situations and go farther in our efforts to assist them.
Debbie Belknap
Thrift Store & Boutique Director
Debbie oversees our Thrift Store and The Boutique. She truly has a servant heart and a gift for creating relationships. Her high standards and her love for the Lord help her to create a beautiful space and experience for everyone who enters our stores, be it staff or customers.
